Hi Folks,

I'm having a small love fest with my Minox 35 GT, but have read on the Internet that the GT-E and MDC models have shutter speeds up to 8 seconds. Some earlier models including my GT have longer shutter speeds but only when set to ASA 25. What I"m wondering is whether the GT-E and/or MDC models have longer shutter speeds when set to higher ASA settings like 100 or even 400. Does anybody know?

I'm not sure either; my GT can stay open for a long time, but I never shoot with it very critically--it's my burn-through-a-roll-of-film camera. I'd be curious to know what the longest speed is, but I doubt I would ever use the knowledge myself. Good question, in any case.

Thanks for the link, Petronius, although I'll have to use a translator for the site as, regrettably, I no longer read German. Used to be fluent as a kid, but now, decades later, it's all but lost. That's encouraging, though, 'cause there are times when I want the longer shutter speed at the higher asa setting. I actually took a cool picture out a darkened airplane window of storm clouds with my GT and the shutter stayed open for a long time.

According to the manual (click to download from minox.de website) shutter speed goes from 1/500 - 30.
For ISO400 film it should go to 2secs since it says 8secs for 100 and 1 for 800 ==>
ISO Slowest
25 30s
50 16s
100 8s
200 4s
400 2s
800 1s

I use it normally with Fomapan400 film, and have never shot anythign slower than 1/30 I think

As per the others, you'll have to read the manuals which are available In the MINOX website
