What I have learned, make a LTM mount is more difficult than M mount due to the lens’ short flange distance.

Here is the finished adapter in Leica M mount. Since I didn’t have access to a CNC lathe, I used available parts from eBay—an aluminum screw-mount body cap and an M-mount adapter. While disassembling the lens, I discovered it contained many plastic components. Installing such a cheaply made lens into a precisely crafted adapter feels like fitting a Yugo car body onto a Mercedes chassis and suspension.

To achieve a recessed configuration, I used power tools to drill holes and sand the edges to fit the M adapter from the rear. Unfortunately, the original plastic barrel wasn’t strong enough, so I replaced it with a metal one. As a result, I lost the original aperture markings. Without access to laser engraving, I manually drilled the aperture marks onto the new metal barrel.

All parts bonded by JB weld and autocorllimated

Although it’s crudely made compared to Ellis’ finely machined adapter, it functions as intended. I also adjusted the rear assembly to align the rangefinder at 3 feet, allowing me to achieve a sharp image at close focus (3 feet, f/2.8).
