i am so stupid...

my Minox GT was not working.
The shutter button clicks but the aperture not open...THAT famous trouble.
I followed all that procedures i found on the web...after half a year's trial-and-errors (including taking apart the shutter blade and cleaning it), i finally make it clicks again!!!

except one thing:
i don't remember how to put the front element and the focus ring back on...

any one could give me a hint?
thanks in advance...

SOLVED!
--it's a screw-in!

the trick is : you have to make some markings so you remember the position of the 3 screws related to the front element BEFORE you take the lens elements apart!!!! otherwise you will never get the correct focusing back.

now my beloved GT is alive and kicking again!

PS: i could share the photo-records of the whole restoring if someone teach me how to attach the jpeg previews here.

Good job!

If you want to put the pics up from your hard drive, there's the little paperclip button on top there, you can browse to your pic and upload it. If you have the pics hosted somewhere you can use the little 'sunrise' button to point to them, but I've never done it.

BTW, this thing is insanely fantastic. Congratulations! http://www.flickr.com/photos/54130523@N08/5531385982/in/photostream/

thanks Ranchu!
i love that Ricoh Hi-color35 very much too...even i haven't had the chance to try the capsule...bought it just for the novelty value but the camera itself give out vivid color.

and back to the GT, i still have to wait for the first roll to come out, to see if i got the focusing right, so, will post pictures later.

here's the pictures--WARNING: i am a camera-mechanic-idiot so do it at your own risks!!! ;D">">">">">">">">">">">">">">">

I forgot to add:

Taking it apart is the easiest part,
putting them back is the hard part.
putting them back RIGHT is the hardest.
;D

more test photo at random aperture setting...f2.8 + f16 and something in-between

i lost one of the two "fish-scale-shaped" filter before the light meter sensor
so everything is a bit over-exposed,
other than that it is Good. (remember it's been "certified" for many years!)

Hi, What needed to be fixed to get it working again. My GT shutter fails about 6 x per 36 ex.
