Miranda to Contax Nikon Rangefinder Adapter

I recently saw a "Miranda to Zeiss Contax Nikon Range Finder Lens Adapter" listed on Ebay. It brought two questions to mind. The first being other than for wide angle lens what good would it be? The second one being since Miranda lenses were made by Soligor and assumedly were nothing special, why would anyone want one? That being said does anyone know whether it might be able to be modified to adapt other lens such as early Nikon-F to a Nikon or Contax Rangefinder?

Well I bought a Miranda dx-3 at a charity shop yesterday with a 50mm f1.4 lens. Maybe nothing special, but seems like a real nice lens. I suppose if you already had a Miranda kit, such an adapter could be useful.

It seems like an adapter that would have little market, though the Miranda 50mm f/1.9 was a rather good lens.

The Miranda mount has a relatively short register and Miranda sold a number of mount adapters for it including Exakta, Topcon, Pentax M42, & Nikon F. Yes, even though Topcon and Exakta use the same bayonet they don't have the same orientation and location of external diaphragm linkage. By offering both a the external auto and semi-auto diaphragm lenes from both brands would couple to the shutter release on the front of the Miranda body.

possibly to use Nikon Rangefinder Reflex Housing lenses on the Miranda body but never had one of those adapters, so not sure
