He refused to use any factory made cameras, he even constucted his own lenses and enlarger. I've seen his exhibition in Frankfurt this spring. For me, he's the most inspiring photographer who dedicated his work to woman beauty. He was former painter, but the communists closed his atelier and tried to force him to paint happy factory workers as a part of propaganda. So he turned into "renegade photographer".
