If you click on Messages in the left-hand column, a new link, "Other", will appear below "Messages". Or just go here: https://www.facebook.com/messages/other/
This page contains messages sent by non-friends. These messages don't show up as notifications, so if you're not aware of the page, they are easily missed. Which can be annoying!
I never saw those messages! There's one saying I won us$750,000 dollar. Wow

If you live on the other side of the world, going to Europe (and Berlin, at that - one of the most interesting cities around here) can be Big Thing in itself.
Anyway. That's a bummer, man. You're not the only one who's been bitten by the "Other" tab. I wasn't even aware of its existence until months after people had sent personal messages that I should have replied to..
I live in Adelaide, Australia. So a free trip to Germany (on the other side of the world) was awesome by itself! Would have cost an arm and a leg for me to travel to Germany by my own expenses.
And... About the "Other's" tab... :bang:

Are you serious?!
Yup, I believe in karma and I believe it would probably come back to me in the form of a M10 or a noctilux! :angel:So so sorry to hear this. It really is just too bad. Sigh. I'd do :bang: for real too if that happened to me.
I hope this somehow "credit back" in your future "luck usage"...

To be checking email on a daily basis and many times each day has become the norm in the age of social networking. I must do it at the university to manage communications from my students and research collabroators.
Too bad that it happened to you with a winning thing.

I actually don't care about the traveling part. Yes it's costly but it's something that you can buy with a reasonable amount of money. But a chance to be with Leica at the news release is something that is hard to buy.
