I have one roll bw400cn and one roll hp5 400 are ready for develop. My question is that can I develop them in one tank together? Will there be any chemical or other problems?

Chris

Yes, there will be problems---incompatible chemistry. C-41 (the bw400cn) is the standard color negative process, mixing in a traditional B&W film will not be a pretty sight.

Dear Chris,

Use conventional negative processing and you'll probably get an image on the C41, but it would be amazing if it were as good as if it were C41 processed. At best, it might qualify as 'usable' or 'recognizable'.

Process both in C41 and the emulsion may well come off the conventional film; not that it will matter, as the bleach-fix will remove the silver image anyway.

Cheers,

Roger

Thank you Chunk, Roger. I have seen some ppl here develop c41 with conventional b&w processing and the result was quite interesting. I always want to try it out some day. I just want to make sure mixing the c41 and the traditional b&w film won't have any negative effect on each other.
