My only options for "modern" handling (combined shutter speed dial/advance levers) LTM cameras are the Bessas or the later screw mount Canons, correct?

The later FEDs could be included in this list, too. I was going to add Nikon, but they're, well, Nikon-mount.

There are also some rare models from the very last stage of the LTM era. One of them (or maybe the only one? memory is blurred) is the Leotax G: M3 style body, combined speed dial, advance lever, backdoor loading and a Nikon SP style dual finder - one for 50/90 and the other one for 35.
Expensive and not very reliable, since only 500 were made out of the parts after the bankruptcy of the manufacturer. You would certainly be better off with a Canon VI...

native m39 id say only canons which are really gems! like the vtdeluxe wow camera!
And that has that tiny lifting rod in the hot shoe that makes the accesory viewfinders compensate automatically parallax!

With a 1/1 finder and a very precise lightmeter...
I had one and I sold it.
It is certainly the last "modern" LTM camera, with its Copal shutters.

Zorki 6 might also qualify - advance lever, "normal" back and a single shutter speed dial (that, IIRC, may be set at any time). The set of shutter speeds is a bit limited, though.

I never had problems concerning these leaks. But they were quoted, that's right.
The finder was really astonishing, and the 1/2000th very interesting. But the general making was not perfect. Something between a Zorki and a Leica, I think...

Other than the separate slow speed dial, the Yashica YF is pretty "modern".

I'd say a Canon P would have modern handling.

I prefer LTM lenses but M mount bodies because;
LTM lenses will fit both types of bodies.
M mount bodies will take both types of lens mounts.

Zorki 4K and Fed 5b/5c - the dial is lift and set and can only be set after cocking the shutter, but the speeds are all on one dial, the film is advanced with a lever, and the viewfinders are reasonably large.
Yashica YF - lever wind and integrated viewfinder/rf - but slow speeds on a separate dial, and the main dial is still lift and set. Also hugely expensive compared to the (arguably better) Canons.
And then you have the Bessas.

I can't think of much, aside from an in-finder meter display, that could be more up-to-date on my Canon 7. The design of it is pretty well ironed out: not very quirky like most of the earlier LTM RFs.
