Modifications question on the Z4

I have been thinking about buying a Zorki 4... If my wife knew, she would kill me:bang: Anyway, I really like the aethestics of the early 4 vulcanite covering, engaraved speeds and what not, but prefer the lever wind of the 4K. I have a couple of 4Ks that are parts cameras. Would it be possible to transplant a lever wind from a 4K to a 4? I know, I know... just buy a 4K. That is out of the question. I want a silver J8 and the vulcanite covering. I don't want to buy a 4K and then have to get a J8 and a recover kit. I figured that the quickest way was to buy a Z4 matching what I want and then adapt the lever wind from a Z4K since that is really the only difference between the two.

IMHO the lever on 4k is pretty ugly... and even though the 4's knob isn't very practical, I prefer it's aestetics to the 4k.

But from purely technical point of view it should be possible to transplant the lever and its mechanism to an early 4. But in my eyes it's heresy 😉

Well, then call me a heretic😛 I may try to fashion something a bit more elegant from other cameras and stuff I have laying around. Shouldn't be too hard to mill something up that is a bit more graceful. When I eventually get around to getting a Z4 (gotta pay uncle sam first:bang: ) I will start playing around. I may use the discarded hulks of the Z4Ks I have laying around as testbeds first.
