Hello, everybody
Recently I`ve got the Summaron 35mm f3.5 with M mount, and was surprised that it activates the 50mm frame.
I`ve found that the bayonet can be home modified to bring up the 35mm frame. But did not see exact instruction.
Anybody could help with it?
What exactly should I file off?
Thank you.

Is it goggled? In which case if you attempt to change the framelines, the image shown by the rangefinder goggles will still be in the old 50mm lines as they reduce it to the 50mm.

If it isn't goggled, someone has been having a go at it, as the non-goggled versions bring up the 35m framelines on the cameras with them.

Which M Mount camera is it?

Hi, Charles.
My lens is not goggled. I should mention it initially.
This is the lens from the first batches (made in 1955), when there were not 35 mm frame lines in Leica cameras. So it brings up 50 mm.
The Summarons that bring up the 35 mm frames were introduced in 1957 afaik.

1955 makes me wonder if it was a screw threaded one with the bayonet fitting screwed on and then locked in place by a small screw...

If and only if, a change of adapter would do it, perhaps.

Regards, David
