Film is the other way
Hi to all RFF'ers in and around the Toronto/Montreal area (including NY, OH, MI etc USA)
Artz and i have decided to hold the first ever Bi Municipal RF Fest between Montreal and Toronto.
Generally the idea would to spend one day only as RFF members visiting and shooting in eachothers city and pairing up as best can be managed with someone acting as a guide in each respective city.
One event each and one month apart. Held during an event that draws local interest such as one of the Film Festivals, or music festivals or anything that is somewhat unique and therefore interesting. Shoot during the day anywhere your guide takes you and then meet at a large patio for a closing meal and 'adult beverages' Cab back to the hotel/motel//B&B and call it a day.
I'll leave this up and people can sign up and when there are enough make some decisions locally about an event in each city and get coordinated for the event.
I'm in. So's Artz (I think)

Speaking as someone who's been hitting Montreal regularly (4x last year, 2x this year so far) I think this would be interesting...

Count me in, this sounds like fun and I like playing tour guide. I am going to have some more spare time next year.

So Frank, you want to see Montreal under a different light?
I'm in defintely. I've been to Toronto only twice and I'd say both times don't count. Once when I was 12 and once this Summer to shoot a golf tournament at Glen Abey (resulting in this cheesy avatar picture).
There are so many events in Montreal during the Summer it won't be hard to find something. It's one festival after the other.

Yes. Without the halo!

I'm working on this weekend's shots. The halo really went out the window!
We should be able to arrange something nice for you, making sure it falls on the right date. It would most probably be a Friday (first one of the month). This is how the schedule looks like now.

Very good! I have holidays in July and August. Lets arrange something for next summer. I'll be your host for a weekend in Toronto. We have several festivals as well which are conducive to easy photography on the streets.

Great!
During July, there are lots of events in Montreal so daytime photography would be easy. Setting the date is more important for night time. You probably want to attend one of those events I usually cover, right?

I have a few friends that live in Montreal. I've never been to Montreal, so who knows...I may crash at your party?

Party crashing. Is it a bad thing?

if you want to come, come! It's all about 'Canadian Bi-Municipalism' not 'Bi Culturalism' , It just happens that there will be two cultures. And as the French say, 'vive la difference' it should be a fantastic time. Arrangements will be planned and re planned during the next 7 months. So lots of time to get a CLA on your equipment , find some accomodation and have some RFF fun
cheers, Jan

Hi Joe
I live downtown (Yonge / St. Clair) close to the subway etc. I don't know right now but usually the sofa is okay. Depends on my kids being in town or not. Still it's a 50/50 at worst. If it's available it's yours.
