More film than Tom ?

We've just had our kitchen done up and bought a new fridge. In cleaning out the old one my wife found a black plastic covered box. Inside was a bulk loader with a roll of 100 Tmax inside that I thought went missing about 20 years ago. Well I'll have some fun trying that out.
 
I can envision me leaving a bulk loader in the fridge for 20 years. I can't picture any woman not wondering what that was back there for more than a month.

Tom never seems to have liked the first Tmax400 films. I've allways wondered why.

I always found the first Tmax to be too fiddly to get a decent negative. You really wanted a rheostat on the sun to control the light outdoors! If you was using the camera in a studio with controlled light, it was very good - but any "out doors" uncontrolled light blew either high lights or shadows!
The new Tmax-2 400 is much better - one of the best 400 iso films I have ever used.

That scene in those conditions favoured the original TMY. The tonal range is compressed above Zone V, except for the small highlights on roofs, domes, etc. In full daylight, TMY would have required serious compensation in developing ... its shoulder was nowhere near as forgiving as other conventional films.
 
I just wanted to add that the film OP pointed at is presumably the best selling b&w film in Europe right now. For 1,49€ for a roll I'm buying gladly.

In conditions like this it seems to me being also perfect.
