More forgiving to low shutter speeds: DSLR vs film rangefinder?

Recent convert to rangefinders (learning on a Canon 7, started a year ago). Curious from more experienced shooters: minus any sort of image stabilization/etc, which do you find more forgiving for low shutter speeds, DSLR or film? And when you do fail to nail that steady camera hand, which do you find more pleasing in its distortion?

One reason I went back to rangefinders for lots of available light stuff is for the lack of that **SLAP** of the mirror. I estimate about an f-stop of gain of the RF over the SLR.

I kind of use the rule of thumb that I can always hand-hold at 1/60, usually at 1/30, sometimes at 1/15 and rarely at 1/8.

I've also found that on some of the slower speed shots, they look great with a web image or small print, but when blown up you REALLY see the camera movement in there.
