Looking at my photo gear, I see that many times I have doubles of my favourite/ most used cameras. Anyone else?
M2, lllf, F3, OM1, OM4 (soon), Rolleiflex, Rollei 35, Nikonos V, Hexar AF, Fuji GS670II.
It's useful to have identical (or near identical) models to reduce lens switching, different films, backup, etc.

Real Men Shoot Film.
I have three Olympus OM-4T bodies, but its the only thing I have multiples of. The OM-4T was my main 35mm system and still is for many things, though since getting my Leica, I have shot much more with it. My reason for 3 bodies? I use a lot of Kodak tmax 3200 but there are times i'll begin a roll of it and not finish right away and i need another camera for Tmax 400, which is my main 35mm film. The third body is just a backup; it was sold to me very cheap and I couldn't turn it down. Sometimes I have color film in it.
I want another Leica because there have been times i had the wrong film in it. May buy one next year if things keep going well.

Completely agree. I used to have two M7s and now I use two MPs. I pair 28/50 or 35/75 on them and it's amazing how you come to depend on being able to switch FOV instantly. I do try to use the same film in both though. It's useful to have identical (or near identical) models to reduce lens switching, different films, backup, etc.

I have 21 Yashica Electro 35 ( Original, G, GS, GT, GSN and GTN ) plus 2 MG-1 ( was 3 but sold one recently ).
Have always had at least two cameras of any one type I owned.
Always take two cameras on a shoot of a specific subject / project.
Have done this for 37 years.

At one point I ended up with 3 Olympus 35 SP's but sold all of them to fund my Leica M4. Now I'm considering buying another M4 to serve as a backup.

Yep. Several versions of the Pentax preSpotmatic cameras (s1, S1a etc) All essentially the same camera though. Also until recently I had 2 M3 bodies and an M4P. A bit excessive don't you think?

I now live in Des Moines
I have three Domke bags.
I can top that -- I have four, including my first one that actually was hand-assembled by Jim Domke himself. It is the dark brown (the original and, for awhile, only color) bag with the plywood bottom insert. Edit: And, oh yeah, I almost forgot: I also have the reporter's satchel, which I don't really think of as a camera bag but it is a Domke. I use it as a combination laptop case and briefcase.

The only thing I have in doubles is focal lengths - but they have different maximum apertures.

Makes sense when you're enamored of cameras mo longer in production.

Agreed, and I too have noticed a tendency to "double-up" in similar gear. Sometimes a different finish or a variation on the model....It's useful to have identical (or near identical) models to reduce lens switching, different films, backup, etc.
And backup, indeed... Last Winter when my black Hexar RF started making round-trips across the country to the repair shop, I got a silver finish one to use in the meantime... glad I did, and it's still mean time for the black one.

We're all light!
Having a pair of identical bodies, for my principal camera system, always made sense. For the better part of what we can now call the last decade this has been a pair of Hexar RFs, along with a trio of M-Hex glass (28/50/90). Going back and forth between cameras is simple, fast, fluid. On the rare occasion that I feel the need for a third body, I have the M2, which transitions easier from the Hexars than one might think. (It pleasantly surprised me.)
