Continuing my walks into the evenings at the dark end of the year, I was out with the Leica CL the other day, having fitted the 1939 Zeiss Biotar 40mm f/2 from my Berning Robot to it with a stack of adapters..

Nice. I didn’t even know there was a 1939 40mm Biotar. There’s something about Biotars I’ve always found appealing.

It is the lens which came on my Berning Robot II ... here's a cheesy snapshot of it, fitted to the Leica CL:
Takes three adapters to fit it to the CL: Robot to L39, L39 to M-Bayonet, and M Adapter L. It's a sweet lens, sharp but with all the low contrast, flarey softness of fast lenses in the time period, particularly when used wide open.
