More Urbex Criminal and Dangerous Behavior

bmattock, about your tag: was it you? did you break those toys in the first place?

Reviewing your treatment of Roger Hicks one starts to wonder....

You draw a parallel between an indifference to trespass, or to the enforcement of other minor laws, and an invitation to rape... is deeply offensive to me and (I suspect) to any right-thinking person.

R.

Bill, I would infer, doesn't have a Mrs Bill looking over his shoulder. It's a useful thing to have. I leave to read someone their bedtime story; I will only say that, after equating trespass with rape, calling fellow photographers & rff members criminals and scum, and mocking people's sympathy with the Civil Rights movement, Bill deserves his unique little corner of Detroit.

Sorry, Bill, nothing like good enough. I still await your grovel.

In that case, I offer my sincere apologies and retract the comparison.

You draw a parallel between an indifference to trespass, or to the enforcement of other minor laws, and an invitation to rape: a serious and horrific crime, made more horrific by the way that women are commonly treated by men and by the law as property. This is deeply offensive to me and (I suspect) to any right-thinking person.

I engaged in hyperbole, exaggeration to emphasize. You are engaging in ignoratio elenchi; specifically, of the red herring variety.

Accepted.

But no, not a red herring. I see a very significant difference.

Cheers,

R.

I don't agree with Bill, however, I don't think its necessary to attack him either.

Now on that note, I'm going to trespass in my kitchen and make some supper.

And since this is a photography forum, I caught these babies trespassing a few days ago. They were severely punished!

Wow!
Is this a record? 28 people all currently viewing this thread!!!

I think what I'm gaining from this is a sense that Bill is fairly right wing and a champion of "law and order". And if any of you are silly enough to visit any property he owned, I bet he's got a gun and would shoot you without a second thought.

Pardon my bluntness, but this comment is a load of crap.

Bill put forth a personal observation and opinion that has resulted in some spirited and healthy debate on this forum. For you to then personalize it by insinuating that Bill is a right-wing, bloodthirsty, nut job who is itching to blow someone away is just B.S.

But I also wonder about his position on all the military people whom he so admires and what he thinks of the atrocities many of them have been involved in in the different theatres they've been sent to - Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan? Are the participants also not criminals and should face the consequences of their crimes against humanity?
How about it, Bill? You can't have it both ways.

I don't know where to begin with this one! War is brutal and atrocities have been committed among the warring factions for millenia, but this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the discussion of trespassing and photography, which is the subject at hand.

I happen to believe that entering private property without permission is trespassing, and if I choose to do so and get caught in the process, I also expect to bear some responsibility for my actions. I am not responsible for the actions of others. Since my lineage is of Italian descent, do you want me to apologize for the whole Roman Empire thing? Sorry 'bout that!

Now, back to our regular forum discussions. Can anyone recommend a $100 camera strap that would go with my ostrich skin Leica M without appearing ostentatious?
