I work for a small town newspaper, as photographer - photo editor, and we are doing our yearly Hometown Heroes pages...ultra soft "news" happy go lucky stuff...one of the people who I had to get a shot of is a bagger at the local Safeway grocery store...long story short I spent the entire morning doing photo shoots and returning to my phone to call corporate public relations people only to eventually get my request to shoot denied....So I had to catch the employee as he was leaving the store and convince him to pose on the sidewalk outside of the store's jurisdiction....um
so basically "hard" reporting on "soft" news...sort of exciting in a Beaver Cleaver way...

I was supposed to be leaving for the US today (actually 20mins ago), but my visa/passport hasn't arrived from the US consulate... So my exiting day will be spent waiting for the express post delivery 🙁 ... Just rang them & my tracking # isn't in the system, but the consulate said it was mailed last night... this could be fun! (insert serious sarcastic overtones)...

Moving with a cold...that's pretty nasty. Missing your international flight due to the inefficiency of a government that doesn't care about the business of government (that's the party's platform, ain't it?)...that's gotta be nerve-wrecking.

Got a bottle of wine during lunch which will be exchanged for a film scanner. I'm excited. And I got to shoot with M2 a little. Now I am doing an ad for hot chocolate in Halloween look. woohoo.

3 hours of my miserable and boring ex-ladyfriend... followed by my longboarding home (like long skateboard for commuting) and 3 young kids on bikes coming through an underpass too fast, with no space to maneuver, so I had to jump off an let my board hit a concrete slab/curb (rather than one of the little punk's faces)

La Thanatos was not very far from you Stewart. Fortunately, she came off at the A650 but it still took her 2 hrs to do 20 miles.

I now work with people who are drug offenders at a residential treatment facility. Most of them have mental health problems but I can usually still work with them and reason with them on some level, but a small percentage of them have been institutionalized so long they lack the socialization skills that most of us expect of each other. Yesterday I suddenly noticed I was alone transporting four of our newer and more excitable residents who were not getting along real well. Things got a little bit exciting for a little while but we all made it back safe.
