Interesting.

About the most viewed and zero comments. I didn't see it at the time, and now I'm not sure whether to comment on the photo or not. Perhaps later after I've thought about steamer's resignation.

Disappointing.

That steamer is giving up this thread because of underwhelming response. In my view people at RFF *say* they like imagery, but they don't particularly, they just say they do. That's why these type of threads are so problematic.

It's not just this thread but also 'I Saw This Photo' (starts Sundays), and 'Gallery Picks' (starts Mondays) too.

Summary: The photo which was most viewed received no comments, and the 'Most Viewed' thread receives few posts.

You could conceivably have the most viewed going to a photo of a camera grip if a thread generated enough interest.

I half thought we'd see a photo from a recent series of 'Leica for Sale' photos which were posted in the Gallery.

Is there a quick and simple way to call up '7 days' from the Gallery and find 'Most Comments'? And hope we don't have a photo of a bag with three pages of comments!

Pitxu:

Thank you. It's one of mine, and it's only been in there one day so 44 views is actually pretty good going already.

In fact it's the best 'score' of any of the photos in my 'Cafes, Banks, Chinese Stores and Opticians (Exteriors)' Album at http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=7252

Some photos in that album are six weeks old with 11 views or so.

Perhaps, for viewers like me, who aren't skilled at judging the merits of the photos of others, it's easy to post a comment to say that you like it, but far, far more difficult to offer any constructive critisism for one you think might be improved. So if the average viewer doesn't like it, or doesn't understand it or find it interesting etc...then it's easier to slip away unnoticed?
(I think that the majority of comments left are positive FWIW)

Now why has this photo got 131 views and only one comment (from myself)? Any ideas?

Mainly guys here and a picture of a naked woman, would be my guess.... Also it is a holiday week so maybe people are not around as much to leave comments.

There are several problems with the most views
1. Everyone has already seen and possibly commented on the most viewed photo.
2. As in this week's photo the most views can be earned in views from a linked thread.
3. Members are for the most part more interested in gear than images.

I thought the thread was a good idea, but if people aren't interested in it, there's not much sense in continuing it.

How about if steamer uses good judgment and picks a popular photo, such as any one of the three that IZr mentions above.

I would trust steamer to choose something interesting for us to discuss.
