Hi there, here's few shots I took this summer in Solda, a wonderful mountain place in Northern Italy. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Wonderful photos indeed. Which lens did you use?

The contrast in that first photo looks a little too harsh, but not in a way that it ruins the photo.

Thanks everybody for appreciating my efforts. I'm still struggling on how to get a good landscape shot, both in terms of framing, aperture spot and post-production technique. In particular, balancing contrast is always an interesting matter (eg: are the trees in 1 and 2 too dark?; generally speaking, how many details can get lost in pushing contrast and increasing black tones?). Anyway, the lens is the 21/2,8 Elmarit M, pre-aspherical (used without external viewfinder).

Great photos!

And I'm reminded that the RD-1 produces amazing black and white images ... the best of any digital camera I've experienced to date!

Cheaper than the M Monochrom too! 😀

Stop doing that Keith, you are going to make me regret selling mine.

OP: indeed, very nice set there. Contrast is a matter of taste. Harsh mountain light can be difficult at the best of times. Personally I think you got it about right.
