Mounting screw mount lenses?

Almost certainly a dumb newbie question 🙄

Just got my first screw mount lens - the CV 12/5.6 plus an adapter, but when I mount it on the R-D1 its offset slightly to the left - the dot in the middle of the dof scale is at the 11 o'clock position. Is that normal or have I done something wrong?

Managed to take a few samples with the lens, so pleased to have got back to a true wide-angle, had got very used to the 27mm equiv fov of my old Nikon 18-70...

I'm not sure - but I know several of my screwmount lenses mount slightly offset - most are at the 1-oclock position as you are looking at the camera from the front.

Yes this is a common issue with the CV ultra wides and adapters. You may find several threads about it in the Cosina Voigtlander forum. It's a non-issue, finally, and you can ignore it as the tolerances are bigger than that, and the large DOF of these lenses would allow even much more offset.

You have the 12mm which has a hood that can be positioned in the correct angle, but the 15mm Heliar has a fixed hood, so there it might be an issue when the offset is more than a few degrees. Fortunately, my 15 is correct angled on Bessa L and with any adapter used so far.

It is normal. Don't worry about it. I have many screw mount lenses. They all are offset. My 15 is offset as well and the hood, it is small, does not cause any problems.
