Larger format film just means you get smoother tonality, and you can enlarge it more w/o getting big grain. That's about it really. If you don't seek any of that, then there's no need to shoot 6x9 or whatever. All the math or formulas on earth are of little use. It's a visual thing, pure and simple. Go with what looks best to you.
