Looks like my new place this year will be the DFW metro area. Once again, work has decided it needs me in a hot and arid area. I didn't care too much for AZ but now Dallas is a long shot as far as liking it. At least in Phoenix I could drive to Vegas on the weekends aor hit the Grand Canyon. lets see what the lone star state has to offer. When I transfered to AZ it was really exciting doing the move. But this time I am not looking forward to another move. Especially now that winter is nearly over and the temps are on the rise. On the positive side, I will be keeping my home in Oregon. It will be nice to visit on occasion and enjoy the NW.

Jorge,

DFW is by no means arid like AZ. There's a lot more humidity than PHX. Let me know where you're going to move to and I can give you the 411. Our regional office is in DFW specifically Richardson. Although you can't go to Vegas you can come to my neck of the woods in Ausitn and have a great time.

You'll just have to get used to the fact that DFW isn't as liberal or "TreeHuggerish" like Oregon.

Let me know when the move is..............

Scott,

I get along with my tree hugging friends up here quite well. But I must admit that being a strong conservative it's quite odd being 1 out of 100 that. 🙂 GOP!

Ok guys, dont go balistic on me. this is not a politcal post.

I hope there are good photographic landscape subjects near by.

In Dallas you'll be doing mostly street photography. Typical landscape subjects include suburbia as far as the eye can see - unless you go east to the Piney Woods to get away from the big box strip centers.

To get to the mountains, it's best to fly west to the rockies, rent a car and then drive to your destination.

Austin would have been better, but it is still hot and humid through out the summer.

Oh well. Looks like the next year will be interesting. I here there are some good things to do in New Mexico which is not too far. I will keep you guys posted.
