First of all nice pictures btw, I think you will still produce great pictures regardless of the camera. However I personally think the m8 is indeed sharper by a slight margin, perhaps due to a thinner IR filter. The characterized look would be the same imho. Unless you are shooting your m8 without an UVIR filter, then the m8 will produce a alightly different colour rendition due to the IR leak.
I say swap to the m9 if you can afford it, but the m8 is no slouch and holds its own ground until today. Go try one first if you are undecided.
