MP Battery Problems

Gents,

I think I've posted on this before and apologize if I have but has anybody else out there had problems with their MP and batteries? My MP is just a few months old (9) and already I've been through a half dozen batteries and most are DOA, which I have a hard time believing. I have a feeling the battery system that meters my baby is broken. Anybody else?

You mean the battery is draining too fast? I had this problem with my M6TTL. When you unscrew the battery cover and look directly into it there is this metal pin right in the middle. If it is sticking out too far then just push it in with a pencil. It worked for me.

I had a problem with my MP and fast battery drain (camera was two years old) and had it fixed by Leica (camera had to be sent in to fix some other problems, too).

FWIW I haven't changed battery in 2 years in mine and it is still going strong. That represents about 20 films. I always stow it on B(off) and almost always with the shutter released. Good luck on that.

Sent in my 2003 MP under extended warranty two yrs ago. Since then, never changed batteries again. works great now.
