I am considering purchasing a new MP but I have been reading "bits and pieces" regarding a sealing problem on the viewfinder of the MP. Can you please let me know what this issue is?. Has it been resolved on new cameras being shipped?. Any input is greatly appreciated.

There has been a fair amount of chatter on photo.net about this, the latest information I have is that Leica in Germany fixed the problem and the newer MPs are shipping with the fix (see the link below for one of the more recent PN threads).
The problem isn't confined to the MP, I just bought an M7 and I'm hoping it doesn't have the problem too - some of them do...

It's no problem to do the eyepiece sealing fix... i sent my m-7s to leica new jersey to fix it and they were back in a flash...
