The first MP's had a seal around the eyepiece that could let in dust in the viewfinder. Leica either fixed it under warranty or sent you the part for a DIY job.
Apart from that I haven't heard or experienced any problems with the MP.

The major update of the Leica MP concern the finder, that show the same quality level of the M3 finder.
From the Leica M4-2 to the first series of the Leica M7, the finder have lost an optical element (in respect to M3/M2/M4/M5 finder) while another one of the optical element was made in acrylic glass, who tend to make opaque with passing the time.
The MP finder is made with the same number of the optical elements of the M3 finder and all optical elements of the MP finder are made in pure glass. See the MP review written by Erwin Puts for more technical info.
