Hi, I recently picked up a mr4 meter in decent condition but I have two questions so far:
1. I had an old mr meter and the mr4 seems a little different. Do I use the red dot during day light or dim light? I get a little bit confused....

2. When one put the mr4 onto m4p, it feels a little bit squeaky at certain shutter speed, is this normal? Do I need to lubricate it or something? i am pretty sure I put it on correctly.

Thank you. So far i really like the combo even though the vcII meter gives better reading and it's much easier to use.

Thanks for the reply.

The knob on the meter (once coupled with body) doesn't rotate very smoothly, particularly at certain shutter speed, I have to use two fingers to move it (instead of using my index finger alone).

I have the same set-up, MR-4 + M4-P, and setting shutter-speeds is butter-smooth. Maybe your MR-4 needs some attention ?

I have the same combo. So far I've used a hand held light meter because I'm not used to the MR-4. But I'd like to give the MR-4 a try. What's the most efficient way to use it? Should I take an incident reading from the palm of my hand or use it as a sort of large spot meter and try to find something middle gray to take a reading?
