Anyone using a MSR (Mini Soft Release) on their Bessa R2A? Is it ok to use it?
I tried but it didn't really screw all the way in the shutter.
Care to tell me why?

I tried a regular soft release on my R3A but got rid of it pretty quickly. I found that the shutter was pretty sensitive, and in taking a light reading I would sometimes fire the shutter. I found the SR worked best with the earlier mechanical Bessas.

On my R I've always wondered if my miniSR screws down as far as it should - I have thought there's too much thread showing.

BUT, even with that, it makes an appreciable difference (for the better) to the handling of the camera. Wouldn't leave home without it.

I've had the SR pop out inadvertently a couple of times, I finally stopped using them. This happens on all my cameras, both Bessas and the Leicas, and also with both the mini and regular sized SR. It's pretty annoying.

I've stopped using the mini soft release on my R after I had been wondering for a while whether it had some electronic problem - the new battery I had put into the camera was already empty again after just a few weeks... Turned out that due to the MSR, the shutter got pressed (and hence the light meter turnde on, using up power) whenever I put the R into my bag.
