Must see photo...

Great photo but a difficult decision to photograph a scene like that (?) I'm sure I would have put my camera down and been wit the policeman as an extra pair of arms for the baby to land in......

Not judging, just my opinion..
 
I know it's a real test to what personality trait you are, much like how some people freeze when help is needed. I'd probably be gasping with the rest of the crowd
 
From the looks of it, the photographer was a distance away. Rushing over in a vain attempt to help the professionals would probably cause more harm than good, you'd get in the way.
