Watch that step!
Speaking of upside down film loading instruction plates, my own IIIc "stepper" (3929xx) has the plate right side up, but the lettering and diagram is done in a gold color, instead of the usual silver my other Barnacks have. Maybe that's pretty common though, but hey, I think it's chic anyway.

The "upside" down instruction plates were ONLY toward the end of the Stepped Rewind Platform camera production
(More about it in the book Leo B. and I are going to write)
#3929xx is late 1945 production (about Oct/Nov)

Well, then, that's that.
I don't understand right way up and upside down. I used to load my IIIc both ways -- sometimes with the lens facing me, sometimes facing away.

A "Thank you very much!" to --
-- Mynikonf2 for letting me know that your instruction plate has gold lettering too. My monitor isn't good enough to show that.
-- LeicaTom for letting me know when my most esteemed IIIc's birthday is.
IIIc's do have a charm about them, to me, anyway.

Yes, that`s a rough estimate, while the Leitz records are still locked up under wraps, but I know that the entire #392xxx series cameras were produced in 1945, if you may please drop me a line at my email
winkermeister@aol.com
and let me know your serial number for our survivor records, I`m trying to record just how many are left from postwar Stepped Rewind Platform IIIC`s from 1945 and 46
And Mike`s got himself a nice little collection started already with 3 rare postwar cameras , they are out there, half the fun is finding them
