My Braun Super Paxette project

Thanks, it really is tiny. After a long spell with my R-D1 and Leica M it seems VERY small, but I still think it is built really nicely, I mean, let's face it, it's been going for about 65 years! It's a real gem to use and I'll never forget how satisfying it was to see my first roll of FP4 from the camera. Magical.

Your camera equipment looks beautiful. The Schneider 50/2.8 should be first class.

I have a 50mm/2.0 Luxon that was made for the Paxette. I bought it, thinking that it was LTM, but it was not. Brian worked on this lens as the first hacking project for me. He managed to convert it to LTM.

I had a company here in the UK make me an adapter to use the paxette lenses on LTM but it doesn't engage the rangefinder of course but it will be nice to use them all the same. I presume yours doesn't couple either?

My lens is RF coupled just like any LTM lens. Brian uses a lens shell which has RF coupling,and then inserts the glass into it.

Not all Paxette Lenses are RF-coupled ! You have to look at the mount and run the focusing ring to see whether there's a ring to operate the RF tab.

I have a couple Super Paxette bodies, and several lenses ( one a Schneider 50/2.8 ), and a Braun system-case... neat, cute little cameras... but the Staeble lenses that seem most common for them are not great.

I would not bother to take the trouble to adapt a Staeble lens to a Leica...

That said, I would like to pick the best of mine and have it CLA'd... and make it regular shooter out of it... ( mine seems to have RF calibration issues )

Does anyone know if there were Schneider Lens for the Braun Super-Paxette in focal legnths other than 50 mm ?

The lenses seem to be average lenses in quality or even below average based on what I could find posted online. The Luxon is hard to find for sale these days. It could be that it was an inferior lens or an average lens that nobody kept. Still, it is an uncommon lens.

Luxon 50/2 ..maybe at 5.6 or 4.0. These effects make the Luxon LTM special lens. The swirling effect goes down in the shade.

Very nice work with this camera. And over time, you've assembled an excellent collection.

If you can find it, get some Flitz. It's a metal polish and does an excellent job on chrome and aluminum.

That Xenar is a Tessar type and should be an excellent lens.
