My Braun Super Paxette project

As a Swede I of course know the whole Ikea catalog by heart. 😛
Those glass shelves are extremely thin and bends with pretty light force, aren't you worried? I don't know how heavy your stuff is though but I skipped it due to some of my lenses weighing in at over 1kg.

I bet you do!

The shelves look fine to me - however the cameras don't weigh that much really.

Worth noting for the future though, thanks.

aaaaaaand... another lens just ordered!! Got to be the rarest of the lot, it's the first I've seen since I've started collecting.

Pics to follow 🙂

OK if you're not totally bored with my collection yet, here's the final* rangefinder coupled lens for the Paxette system, fresh off the boat from Germany. It's the lens standing up on the top right:

It's a Steinheil Munchen Tele-Quinar 135mm f3.5 and it's the only one I've seen for sale anywhere for a long long time - and it's optically mint!

*as far as I know - happy to be corrected!

Here's the lens:

Dear Ped,
this is indeed an amazing collection. Could you share what is the size of hood/filter thread on the Quinon 50/2? I was recently lucky enough to find the Quinon for my Paxette II earliest model (not sure about the names - it has a flat top, no rangefinder and no fast advance lever). I've been very pleased with the rendering of my Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 50/2.8 on Paxette, so I can't wait to see what's the Quinon capable of.

Below sample image I shot with Xenar on RPX 25, developed in Ilfotec HC 1:47

Best regards!

Hi there. Glad to hear you’re enjoying your paxette. The thread on the Quinon is 40.5mm, I’m unsure about the pitch but I have several hoods and filters which fit no problem so I don’t think it’s anything unusual.

Those early paxette must be tiny! I don’t have one (yet) but after using the Super IIB for my main camera even the RF equipped early versions feel very small - but they all feel great in the hand and simple to use.

I think the Schneider has the best ‘feel’ of all the lenses - it’s very heavy and has precise aperture click stops. I really like mine!
