Canon LTM My Canon 85mm f1.5 is Here!

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Exacty aligned lens. The Canon 85/1.5 isn't as bad as the low price suggest, when compared to a Summarex.
I have found one even in the German Leica Forum who admitted that the Canon is better. Hiroshi Ito who designed the lens, did the 50/1.8 and the 100/3.5 too.

Three More - 85mm f1.5 Eastman XX & X+

Voila! Note the Cool Bokeh :D:D:D
It does "vapourize" the background, close-up.

I have these other two Hiroshi lenses, and I attest to their overall very high quality. The 50/1.8 can rival a Summicron V1, and the 100/3.5 is so sharp that it makes other "Top" lenses look bad.

That Canon 100/3.5 knocked my socks off! I don't usually like longer lenses, but that one is just astounding. And Cheap. (for now) Can't recall if it was you who tipped me off on this, Raid, but whoever it was, an eternal thank you. Still shopping for the 50/1.5 though.

Jim,
I posted a few images at flickr with a "messed up" 100mm/3.5, and you liked the sharpness. The lens was sharp even with a milky layer inside the lens.

Thanks for sharing the pictures Dan. Now that I've seen your pictures and Raid's set on flickr, I think I have to get the lens now!

Cheers,

Benny,
I think I saw a nice one on KevinCameras website, for not much more than I paid for this one.

Thanks for the comments on the pictures. I am new to the "dry lightroom" and this is my first try, here. More to come in the future.

nice and random shots. is this typical of your work?
i still havent tried a 85mm yet, ever. i think ill buy a J9 just to see if i like the focal length first. im sure it wont have anthing as interesting of a look as this.

Yes, very typical. I try to have one with me, when I can, often with just one lens.

The Leicas I own excel at capturing the fleeting. Split-second shooting, often, for me. Since I bought them, I've been using B&W Eastman Movie Film in them, exclusively. Haven't used any color at all.

interesting. often when i use black and white i wish i had got that in kodachrome instead. how do you get the mindset to use black and white, i do like how forgiving it is. sometimes i shoot back to back the same shots and i usually like the black and white a lot but the slide film wins me over...

id show you an example but im not organized enough
