My completed (Impossible) 365 Project

So yesterday I finished my 2011 365 project using only TIP film. It was a long often frustrating task but well worth it. I have 13 hours left in the day to decide if I want to do it again.

awesome! congratulations!! seeing your website makes me want to do a 365 project, but it's already Jan 2nd and i dont know if i have the dedication........... :(

$22? that's nothing! Impossible Project film here costs $36~$40 dollars a pack.... :'(

It was more than that. I shot extra images at some points. All in all it was closer to 430 shots if I had to guess. But I got a free pack or two thanks to Impossible, took advantage of sales and their Poor Pod and Orange flash packs, as well as that PX680 that had some issues. Those 3 packages together netted me 16 packs of film for $95. I also picked up 5 packs of the PX680 Beta 2 film at $13 ea, and 5 of the PX100 UV+ at $10 ea. And got a few packs for bday/christmas.

So still spendy yes, but not as bad as you would think.
 
Nice site, and nice project. I love the idea of what The Impossible Project is doing, and what you're doing with their stuff.
 
Kudos to you on this. The first camera I tried the film in didn't work so I had to obtain another. Then something was wrong with the battery pack in the film I got.. It was one expensive loss after another though I do have a working camera now and one unopened pack of film. Maybe for an artful occasion. And I just looked at your tumblr, it appears you are doing it again. Enjoy!

True.
But it's way better than spending $1000 for shelf-queen gears while one obsessing the specs of the "next best camera."

Looks like you're on to another year of TIP-ping.

Oh, I really wasn't trying to rain on anyone's parade. I was just impressed by that level of commitment.

I have to admit that I'm not very keen on TiP's product as I think they charge way too much for a product that fails half of the time. However, I'm not their target demographic and I really hope they can further improve the films and maybe someday I'll buy it.

I really should shoot more instant film, though. I just recently completed a Polaroid 110A packfilm conversion so I should definitely load up on some Fuji Instant film. I had two twin-packs of Polaroid 667 left that I finished recently. Man, that was some nice black and white film!
 
Strong commitment for a great project! And excellent video! Bravo, bravo, bravo!

Indeed I am, however there is a slight change this year. I have a ton of expired Polaroid film lying around. And this is something where if I don't use it I will lose it. So for 2012 I will be allowing myself to use Polaroid film as well. This doesn't include however, Fuji Instax, FP100C/3000B or Polaroid 300.

I never got to shoot much 667, but what I did I loved. FP100B was a great film and you can still find a pack or two here and there. FP3000B is quite stunning as well however. Although it has quite a bit more contrast than the Polaroid films ever did.

I actually just got to shoot four packs of 667 out of luck. Bought one of them Polaroid C-something close-up cameras (the one with the ring flash) because I wanted to use the lens for a auto to manual conversion on a 450. Turned out to be the wrong lens (75mm) but luckily the camera came with two twin packs of 667. Beautiful smooth tonality. A bit like Fuji's 100B but nicer. Never was a fan of Fuji's 3000B. Too grainy and contrasty for me.

I do have one last Polaroid film that I really want to keep for something special. It's a roll of Polapan, a 35mm black and white instant slide film. got the developer and machinery, too. I shot one test roll and it looked amazing. The second roll was underexposed because I used it with artificial light and didn't remember to compensate accordingly. The last one I want to keep for a special occasion. It's only got 12 frames.
 
Impressive.. 365 days of finding suitable subject matter without becoming repetitive. The images are wonderful and give me a feeling of nostalgia, even if they were only shot last year.

Just wondering.. are you going to put the images back in sequence again after spreading them all over the floor for that last shot?
