The Cuban Ministry of Culture is having an exhibit of my "Religion - South Apopka" work in the lobby of the Alex Urquiola regional library in Holguin City, Cuba. The opening at 10AM on 24 October is the lead off event for the Iberoamericana cultural festival 24-29 October.
This exhibit has 19 prints from a series I did in 2001-2002 about religion in a historic Negro community in Florida. My primary interest for a number of recent years has been the similarities of the culture of the deep south in the US with Cuban culture.
I will be at the opening, then in and out for the following 10 days as I am participating in the festival and also live part time about 60 km away. If anyone happens to be in the area, I would love to say hello.
