Both my Fed 2 and my Fed 3a have light leaks, mostly seeming to come from the top. I've read the repair sticky in this forum about painting the inside of the top plate to cut down on reflections, but is there anything else I can do to prevent light leaks? Maybe some foam or thread in the groove where the removable back and front come together???

thanks

I thought this might be a headline from yesterday 😛

for actual help, though, I am none. Maybe Jon Goodman, though. There's plenty of good reviews of his seal kits.

I dunno about the FEDs, but Jon Goodman kits are awesome for Pentax, Nikons, Petris, Canons and many others.
In my petri 7s I used to keep some black electrical tape holding the top of the door until i rpelaced the foam with Jon's. Not enough words to praise him.

That was my first thought... "Deep Throat" would be a good nickname for the camera 🙂

Back to the cameras. I've got Zorki's & one Fed, & Kiev's and none of them have light leaks. Shutter problems, of course, are a different issue.

I just use the foamies from Walmart that I cut into strips using a guilotine paper cutter for any seals that I need to replace.
