Celso
Lovely lens. The lack of distortion, strong vignetting and sharpness with film, and the quirckyness with digital, reminds my Super Angulon 21/3.4.

Hi Celso. Yes, it is a very quirky lens ! Still, I like using it for some reason.

But it remains true that the best quality UW lenses come at a high price.
Eh, sorry I just don't believe there is anything special about the Hologon. Perhaps another example of the last 5% of quality costing 95% more, or whatever that saying is. To each his own of course. What is a better buy, is debatable. The difference in price is a lot of film...

Different people have different opinions, and this is as it should be in such a case.
It is a lens that is different from other wide angle lenses.

On my smugmug website, I can track my posted files to see how many images have been viewed. I just checked views from January 1, 2018 until today:

It shows curiosity for images by the Hologon, I think.

What is very nice with the Hologon is the very small size. You can take it with you without noticing, but when you need it, it is there.
Superb quality, maybe more on film than on digital.
Erik.

I need to try it out with film, Erik. On the Bessa T, it will be a small addition to my camera bag with the M9.
If the 16/8 does not fit on the T, I can use the M3. MapQuest lists the 15/8 as incompatible.

I will try it out with film next. The M3 looked to me as the right camera for this lens.

The color smear at the edges should go away with film, and hopefully the vignetting will also be less dramatic.

The filter is there against vignetting, but I quite like the vignetting, which is very even.
On film there will be no color smear.
Great to use the lens on the M3! Don't forget it is a lens from the film era. Go close on your subject.
I am very curious about your results on film, Raid.
Good luck!
Erik.

I have been using the ND filter with the M9 and there is always strong vignetting. I will post at RFF my results one day soon hopefully, Erik.
