Wow I am so exited. Finally I manage to get my book in my hands. It is a book about photographs taken in demonstrations between the years 2005-2011 in Istanbul. Here are the Covers and some pages:

Actually I didn't satisfied print quality. It is too far away from wet print :)
BTW I made a very stupid mistake. I checked every image and forewords that I wrote in English and Turkish. Also I sent it to my friends for checking. When I opened the package I saw the title. There was an extra "e". I forgot to check spelling on the front cover :))
In short, I so happy :).

Also English foreword is below:

"The greatest passion of human considering his existence is the desire to express himself. Creating the language, drawing pictures on cave walls, inventing the literacy ... all of these emerged as a result of the desire to express. Sometimes instant manners of telling such expressions form the expression method as a single gesture, a voice or just a look whereas, sometimes activities spreading on long terms form this expression. Furthermore, I should note that expression methods are put forward not only through individual manners but also through the communities united in the light of common purposes.
Aside from being a photographer, following the forms of expression of people, observing them, creating scenarios what kind of lives they experience, considering myself in their places in order to question my possible attitude towards the circumstances that they experience is a great passion that I could not give up since my childhood. In fact, the work done when I take photographs is just recording this passion on a film surface. Naturally, images that I record are the documents those belong to expression forms of people and every single image I recorded includes a part from me as well.
The photographs I hereby present within the scope of this book consist of moments recorded at the demonstrations which are one of the circumstances that people express themselves. These demonstrations are the demonstrations that I also express myself. In other words, images in the book are naturally my observations at some demonstrations I participated; and they are also me to a certain extend.
All photographs you see in this series were created in Istanbul between the years 2005-2011."

Congrats Taylan! I also saw the flip-through version on your blog, and I think it looks great.

and even "experessions" is not too bad - gives something to think - makes art out of a regular title - great work!
Thank you Frank. I didn't aimed to think people :). It is just destiny. Book chose its name.

Thank you Omar. It is not as good as your darkroom prints :)
I want to show you when we meet. I will put it in my bag.

congrats, taylan. Very nice!

experessions = expectations + expressions...
I think it fits well. It's destiny :)

all the best,
mauro

Is it difficult to find a real publisher rather than going self-published? I have never done either so I am interested to know.

The answer is both yes and no. If you are famous or have enough money you can easily find a publisher, otherwise it is almost impossible. Publishers are generally don't take risk about photography books. Because they are most costly book type. It is very hard decision for them.
Actually, I know a small business publisher and I showed the book to her. She said it was very hard to print such a book for her. She also showed some photo book that she printed and they weren't so good. BTW I am not satisfied the quality of my book.
Lastly, I wish I had a chance to find a international publisher :p

Very nice work :) I assumed your book-title was somewhere between "experience" and "expression" - so it works fine.

Having visited last month, your silver printing is excellent and your darkroom is well thought out. Did the enlarger-timer ever dry out and fix itself, with the problem of not turning off after the flood ?!

I looked at your Dark Side Of The Print blog and that seems interesting too, so everybody go and have a look ;)

Congratulations on your first book Taylan. Excellent work! I really enjoyed checking it out in person the other day :)

Congratulations Taylan, your pictures deserve a good showing and you deserve a good book! I hope you get any print issues sorted out for your next book so that your pictures can be shown in a way that makes you happy.

Will you be selling it via Blurb?
