Hi everyone.
I just wanted to share my first shots from my Canonet I got this last week. I was plesantly surprised by the sharpness of the lens... I'd heard it was good before... just never really got to try it out.
Anyway, here they are. All shots taken on Ilford XP2 super rated at 400 ISO with the Canonet QL17 G3, of course:

Joeyjoe,
Cool. Another Northwest'er that shoots Canonet.
Nice shots from an "old/cheap" camera, eh? Proves it's who is shooting, not what with

Nice shots!
First one - like this a lot, very moody.
Second one - good candid, well captured.
Third - nice symetry.

You know, I've actually found out that old cameras are kinda like old people. Some are just decrepid, bitter, difficult, broken and smell funny. Others have a lot of character and there's a LOT you can learn from them and they're 'still going strong doing what they're good at.
I'm definatly loving the rangefinder... I'm really happy with that I've got at the moment and being a college student, I don't think that there's anything within my price range for the time being. I think if I land a windfall I'll "break up" with my canonet and go for a bessa: the younger and more attractive sister with a better personality
Thank you for all the kind comments. It's not too often that I get to hear nice things about my work

Eh... 2 rolls.. but 'still pretty good. I'm usually happy with 1 good one on a roll, but aspiring for much more.

HBC,
Aaack, don't give up the FTB for the Canonet! Get the GIII back, to co-habitate with it's big sister. I love both Old Canons. (and having fun with a 'new' A1 also).
