My first RFF image post

I am thrilled to have joined the rangefinder crowd. These are two images I particularly like from my first roll with my new Bessa R3A (and Nokton 40 f1.4). I believe they were both shot wide open, but this is before I started keeping notes.

I will appreciate any feedback you may have.

I think this one was shot at 1/8 with the camera leaning against a post.

Hello, Michel. Welcome and congratulations! Very good results. On the first pic, I like that you did not center the subject, but placing her head slightly higher in the frame would be something I'd have done, unless of course therr was something distracting lower than you framed the shot. Anyway, as a brand new RF shooter, can you describe what it is about RF photography that grabbed you? There is something, but I can't quite articulate it. I've been doing photography for over 30 years, but using RF film cameras over the last 3 years has really rejuvenated my interest.

Frank, thanks for having a look. Since you mention subject placement, I guess I am still struggling with focusing with the patch and sometimes get too caught up in it that I don't pay enough attention to composition before depressing the shutter release. I became interested in RF cameras while persusing the Buy and Sell forum at fredmiranda.com when I saw a Canonet for sale. I thought it looked really cool and that my wife would like it! And now, I have 3 RFs, 1 new TLR and a Canon Elan pulled out of retirement, most of which have film in them at any given moment. I am really enjoying shooting film again.

Hey Michel - Nice photos. Thanks for sharing with us. As Frank mentioned, I think the first one in particular is nice. It does take a while to get used to the different style of shooting with a rangefinder, but once you get it, watch out!
