I've been primarily using dRFs and EVFs since I shifted to Sony A7 series cameras because they are used in underwater housings which are small and light compared to dSLR housings. However, circumstances change and I've ended up with a dSLR and its housing again simply because for local underwater photography its weight is not a problem, and because the quality of image relative to cost is extremely good at the moment. So I've ended up with a D800E and to check it and the 18-35 lens I went out last night and the result is below. For what I paid for warranted gear, the value for money is high!Pirnmill Shore 01 © Paul Kay 2025.jpg

I did that when I bought a Aquatech. Hard to beat a dirt cheap D800 and 18-35, probably only $6-700 total. A lot better than flooding a new camera!
I won't tell you how much I paid for the housing. Suffice it to say that it is one of the best and motivated me back to a dSLR ecause of the price. Some sellers still hold out for high prices but the market isn't there, so its possible to buy a LOT of camera for your money. If you are a low ISO shooter many older cameras are more than viable.
