My local camera store was selling a used Bessa L with 25/f4 and 25 viewfinder for $200 (it was the personal camera of one the salesmen - great guy). I couldn't resist the nice set and price. It's loaded it up with some XP2 to test it out and I hope that I get a chance to takes some pics this weekend. I really like the meter readout on the exterior of the body.

Excellent combo & a good price. I have some shots on my blog where I used my BessaL & 25/4 snapshot skopar with XP-2. The exposures wers a bit dark & I checked the meter on the camera but the film was expired plus Wal-Mart developed & scanned it for me. I was still pleased with the results. If you care to see click on my blog & scroll down.

What lens did you use for your Coltrane shots on your blog?
I like them a lot since it is had to get a good shot w/all of
the background clutter. That is my hometown btw.

I used an evil slr for the Coltrane shot. Canon AE1p with 35/70 3.5 macro. I keep wanting to go back, the weather was so gray & dull that day. We seem to have many like that around here.

Thanks to all. The L and 25/4 seems like a very lightweight rig and even feels as portable as my Leica CL.. I need to take some pictures and get used to scale focusing. Really pleased about the price too!

Scale focusing on the 25/4 isn't too bad at all The lens is so wide it's hard to miss. My biggest problem though is to look through the finder and not focus. I was walking into Wal-Mart to drop off a roll of film. Had the Bessa L by my side and I heard Hey you come take our picture. I kindly did & walking into the store it hit me I forgot to adjust the lens dof. I looked & I saw it was on 10 to 12 ft. I figured the photo was going to be way out of focus but here is the photo. Heavily cropped but my first portrait with a bessa L & a 25mm lens.

I received a L body from photoVillage just yesterday and my first comment is ¡ How something so small may be so good!
I am customed to use big digital bodies, as well leica R but this L body with a 25 mm VC is almost to much small for my hands.
Really wonderful
