My first YouTube video - Leica R8

Wow, thanks! You're adding to the series of resources on the R8 available in YouTube and that's good. I liked the photos in the video, and also have the same problem you do: focusing with wide lenses can be a bit of a task because of the fine ground glass. Now, instead of your enviable lens collection, I only have two overlapping zooms: the 28-70 (which was the one I intended to buy first) in ROM, and the 35-70 f4 (which I purchased out of spite, on a whim... I don't know), also ROM.

BTW, I got my R8 very recently, just in early February, and like yours it's made in Portugal. From what I've read, that batch was better than the previous ones, so we're not at risk of winding up with a nice brick in our bags! :)

Congrats on your video and keep adding more, featuring the different lenses you have.

Fun! I do not have any of the rom lenses or zoom lenses for it. I would like to pick up the 180mm at some point for the system.

Would you like follow up videos on the specific lenses for the R series is what you are saying?

By all means, yes, Eric! :) Not just for me but for others who may be on the fence or simply need more information. I got my R8 in early February this year and I've been burning so much film I'll have to re-start developing my own again. Worse yet, I just pulled the trigger on an R9 (despite the crazy prices, I found one in fairly decent shape in the auction site).

Again, thanks for posting the video. You're experienced with this, but still, make sure you are using key words that will make your video easy to find in a search. And keep up the good work! :)

Sounds good! It may be a bit, I'm slow at getting film developed.

Nice for a first vid :) only critique I could give is that if subject is R8, maybe not include rangefinders into the mix.

Fair, my thinking is that when people think Leica, they think rangefinder, and there should be a comparison to why there is a place to supplement the rangefinder, and how the R fits in that spectrum.
