He's a blog post I wrote about some of the things that I would like to see on the next Fuji flagship camera. I've thought of a few more things that I'd like to add to the list so I will probably be writing a "part 2" in a few days.

What would you guys like to see on the next Fuji cameras?

UPDATE: Here's part 2 of my wish list for the Fuji X-Pro2 and X-E2

A setting with no noise reduction. I hate it when detail gets smudged up without having the possibility to remedy that.
Renaming the settings for sharpening (and noise reduction and maybe a few others). A setting '0' should mean no sharpening applied. Naming it '-2' makes little sense unless it means 'deliberately reducing sharpness', which it doesn't.

For me, the only real problem is the difference in apparent viewing distance between the OVF and the EVF and info overlays. I wear bifocals, and the OVF is perfect. Switch to EVF, and I need to try to use the magnifier portion of my lenses. Same for the info overlays on the OVF. Doesn't work very well. Will probably have to try a diopter correction lens, but I'm thinking where that may correct the EVF, it will probably throw the OVF out of focus. A built-in diopter adjustment as in the X100/s and XE-1 would be the best solution for me.

waiting for the announcement as well, in the mean while i can live with x100 instead of x100s and assuming the XP!! is a good option which I believe it will be, Ill just add XPII instead of the XE1- I also agree with 4 of your five- video is not important to me- add adjustable diopter like XE1 has and would like a customizable Q button....sterno

Price of Fuji is right!

Price of Fuji is right!

If Fuji is smart, they will keep the price the same as the X Pro 1 the way Leica did with the new M. At that price, upgrading is not financially painful the way it is with Leica. That is one of the great things about Fuji. I will probably buy the X-Pro2 and use my X Pro as a back up. Now the question is will the 35 f1.4 benefit in terms of focus, or will we see a new version of that lens too.

The only limitation on the current camera (XP-1) that I run into with any regularity is write-speed/through-put. I actively don't want more MP or better movies. A longer lasting battery would be nice, but if it were a trade-off I would rather have better processing speed.

A note: If they made me camera-Czar I would mandate a universal battery (or better yet, AAs) and a universal charger. Making a $1000 machine dependent on a proprietary small-run battery is (and always has been) madness from the consumer's point of view. It used to be that you spend a kilo-buck and got something that would last 15-25 years of hard use (Nikon F3, Pentax LX, Hassie 500, Leica M-anything etc.). Now you are a member of a 2-year consumer club. Feh.

I must be an exception, but i wish i had more latitude with video. I want to be able to select my iso rating. Oh, and change my aperture while filming. I'm sure it is possible to do this via a firmware update. Anyway, I won't get a xp2, even if they upgrade the video mode 🙂

Yup, I really want to be able to sell my 5D and have a full Fuji setup to do photo and video work.

Why not! I think it'd be so convenient on so many occasions! Also, it wouldn't take anything away from the camera so It shouldn't be a problem if it's there.

If it was elegant enough and added no size to the camera, maybe. Then again, I don't use the LCD. so I want to keep it out of the way as much as possible. Fuji is the one of the only companies making cameras that appeal to the fans of cameras the way they were made before camera like the Canon EOS-1 (film version) made companies decide to get rid of traditional aperture rings and shutter speeds. Honestly, I'd rather keep the Fujis more traditional than adding things like swivel LCDs... there are plenty of camera that do that stuff if you want it. Leave the one digital camera series, outside of the Leica digital M, that tries to appeal to the old school fan, alone.

Again, if it doesn't take away from the camera then why not? It really doesn't make sense, to me at least, to not want something to be there just because it's a newer "non-traditional" feature and for no other reason besides that. It might not be as necessary for the Fuji X-Pro series as the OVF is good but it would definitely be nice on the X-E series.

I'm sure that Fuji won't settle for less than elegant if they do decide to apply the feature.

Name one camera where a tilt screen doesn't add weight and bulk to a camera? The closest I've seen to one of these that I've liked is on the Olympus OM-D.

Ok, that's a good compromise... on some models and not others then we can all be happy.

Sony NEX and Samsung NX have their screens flush with everything else. But I do understand when you're coming from. It's not something all would appreciate and maybe I'm part of the market that Fuji doesn't want to target.

I like the idea because I'm used to the belly-button POV of TLRs, but I wonder if the reliability of the joint could be an issue as it was in some R-D1s.
