So my recently aquired GSN seems to be on the fritz. I'm not sure what it is, but on first guess I thought it was the battery, seeing as none of the apprpriate lights work anymore. Shutter speeds change from the default 1/500 to longer ones, but with no predictability. I took out the battery and tried it on B and it didn't work, it sometimes defaulted back to 1/500 and other times was much longer or would stay open even after my finger came off the shutter release. I don't think the battery should be dead already...ARG!!! :bang:

Any ideas? I really like this little camera and have no cash whatsoever to replace it...

can i assume that it's called the Pad of death because either

A) attempting this repair may cause one to have a heart attack in frustration?

or

B) if you mess up the repair, the camera dies?

Yeh, they're not bad, but they're not his best feature. :)

And, yes, he does everything but walk on water!

We discussed the "pad of death" replacement problem in this thread.

Try the pin in the pad method. It's not so hard.

I don't know of anyone dying from it. :)
Though I've heard it can cause the consumption of large amounts of focusing fluid.:)

AND they are never quite the same after! :p
