At the beginning again.
So my recently aquired GSN seems to be on the fritz. I'm not sure what it is, but on first guess I thought it was the battery, seeing as none of the apprpriate lights work anymore. Shutter speeds change from the default 1/500 to longer ones, but with no predictability. I took out the battery and tried it on B and it didn't work, it sometimes defaulted back to 1/500 and other times was much longer or would stay open even after my finger came off the shutter release. I don't think the battery should be dead already...ARG!!! :bang:
Any ideas? I really like this little camera and have no cash whatsoever to replace it...

I'll bet you just scared the bejeeziz out of him.
I know it scares me to even think I will have to do that bit of microsurgery.
I would probably actually enjoy it. I'm sure my day will come.

can i assume that it's called the Pad of death because either
A) attempting this repair may cause one to have a heart attack in frustration?
or
B) if you mess up the repair, the camera dies?

Yeh, they're not bad, but they're not his best feature.
And, yes, he does everything but walk on water!

We discussed the "pad of death" replacement problem in this thread.

Try the pin in the pad method. It's not so hard.

Though I've heard it can cause the consumption of large amounts of focusing fluid.![]()
