Hi All,
I took the plunge :)
So far the plan is to start with the IKEA flower box, add the graflex 4x5 holder, use the wide angle adaptor (helicolid) from JR in china on a 90/8 schneider SA. I have all of the above.

Right now waiting on the film, shanghai 4x5 cheap, new GG from china as well and the helicolid which should arrive tomorrow along with the gaeorsi viewfinder.

With any luck I will have some build PICs by the weekend and some 4x5 pics by next week!

Very interesting, As a joke I got a Model 95 Land Camera for Christmas. I thought I'll show them. With a graflex back, and some pieces made by Tap Plastic, plus of course $61.00; I converted the 95 to 4x5. The first sheets had some light leaks but I've solved those and now am shooting Arista EDU 400. I actually got some really good images, but they were flashed. Here is my project 4x5:

I hope your camera works as well as mine, in fact I hope it works better.

you and that camera are both very cool.

Looking forward to seeing atlcruiser's 4x5. You'll feel amazing when you see your first DIY image. It's quite satisfying.

Charjohn, I don't mean to be highjacking Atlcruiser's thread, but would you share some more details on your Polaroid conversion?

I LOVE your wall paper

Cool!

Isn't there someone who claims to have a patent on this conversion of Polaroid cameras to 4x5. What's happened with that situation?

feel free to hijack............this is sort of the pre build press release :)

By posting this I am now kicked in the ass to get this working

Yep....some guy bought the "patents" on poloroid to 4x5. He pops up quite often to yell and threaten. Funny enough there is really nothing he can do.

Chrjohn...............just plain cool

As for IKEA...........I would think they would be happy there is a new use for one of their products !

John, I'm trying to combat the super-light-leak on my Pathfinder 101 4x5 conversion that I've been working on. Any tips on how you solve yours would be deeply appreciated.

Parts list:
Graflok back and GG
IKEA plant pot
Gaoersi viewfinder
Chinese no-brand helicoid
Fujinon SW 90/f8

Good luck with your project. Closest I ever have gotten to something like that was rebuilding a beater Crown Graphic into a field camera.

Found a guy with some decent tools to mod a front standard for me:

Movement range is decent for a Crown Graphic:

Is this the much rumored FX200 I've been hearing a buzz about? I might just have to sell my wife, kids, home, dog, autos, and both kidneys to purchase. And then quickly get tired of and sell in the Classifieds. :D

I use black silicone everywhere, and then seal it in with black or blue masking tape. But bellows leaks are the hardest, and I suppose you know the flashlight in the bellows in a dark room trick (then you will go crazy cutting small strips of masking tape so things will fold). I like those LED flashlights for this. On roll film cameras I put masking tape on everything and then remove parts of it while using the roll. You have to take notes which I'm not good at so I end up doing it a few times.

Its images will be better than any camera ever produced. I am certain.

Help me think: should I sell all my Nikon gear and get one like it?
