What, no Kodachrome, Dave!!!
😱 😱 😱
All kidding aside, I love those two pictures. A different mood in each that shows us much of how you see the world.
🙂
Here's mine. I grew up in the village of Brown Deer, Wisconsin. Actually, in a small isloated section of the village that was the original part. And to this day, it still has the feeling of Mayberry, the iconic town in the old Andy Griffith show of the B&W television era.
When I was a kid, this place was an old-fashioned country store, complete with butcher and pickle barrels. Eventually, my dad's cousin bought the place, and kept much of it's original attraction, with a bit of European flair.
This place used to be a biker bar when I was working at a factory 30 years ago. They would cash our paychecks and serve us $0.25 tappers. Now it is one of the best places in the metro-Milwaukee area to get fresh fish dinners.
The old ice skating pavillion, where I learned to ice skate as a kid. My dad learned here also, 75+ years ago. When he was still alive, he would tell me stories of how the Olympic speedskaters would train here. This was THE place to be as a kid in the winter. You could meet cute girls on the pond, and show off your skating skills with jumps and fast turns!
It's a big pond/lagoon, with many areas to explore, including a small isolated island, where many species of birds are protected from human contact.
Two of my favorites.
And finally, the Milwaukee skyline. Thanks for visiting my hometown. Stop by anytime you're in the area.
