International Communist Camera Day over on Flickr was one hell of a deadline, what with having a sick Zorki 1 to have to whip into shape before May 1st. But I persevered. Below are three examples from the roll: Ilford HP5 Plus 400, unfiltered on a Zorki 1 w/Industar-22 3.5/50. Overcast, threatening rain.

Please pardon the black lines running through every shot. I think I'm going to have to fire the photo lab I get my work done at. I ordered an I-26 so it can share filters with my Contax IIa and 3.5/50 Sonnar.

I'm out of here for a week, so don't think I'm ignoring any posted comments.

Great shots of Lynchburg!

I send all my film out

After our friend in Forest shut down 2 (?) years ago due to lack of business, I had to start sending all my film out.

the price for living in rural Virginia. (I say this while eating the fresh asparagus and spinach from our garden.)

Yes, it's highly convenient to have some one-hour and next day places to go to here in Roanoke when you need the film back ASAP, but the quality of work leaves one wishing for the good old days. The one 'pro' shop that still does hand developing of the b&w stuff (non-C41) is a bit iffy at times. I can never get them to consistantly scan the film in the same order as the negative numbers, and I sometimes have to go back the next day to get the film rescanned if they messed it up. My last roll I took them (the above pictures) is scratched all the way from beginning to end.

I don't get the prints because I can print out what I want on my Epsons at home, so I never really know what I am getting until I put the disk in the computer. So now I think I need to get a laptop and haul it down there with me when I pick up the work. Since I am thinking of using York to do some 110 stuff, I may switch all my developing to them.
