Is this glove-like covering safer than the original case ? Obviously not. But it is a tactile pleasure and allows me to attach the strap directly to the body, with some body defense.

The UTF as an integral part of the body
The UTF as an integral part of the body
As I always use my Kievs, whenever I do, with more than one lens, I need the Universal Turret Finder permanently on the body. But here there is a problem: the UTF doesn't attach strongly enough to the body shoe. Hereby my solution: two clips and a strip of rubber cut from my bike tyre.

The following idea is not mine, but taken from an American film. I did ad the black elastic strip, taken from those MP3's arm attachments no one uses and everybody will gladly give you for free.
Now my camera body with UTF attached, is better defended from bumps than with the original Kiev case, which as you know, doesn't accept the UTF inside.
Notice that the fabric and elastic band allow the wraping to include a lens, if you wish. I didn't prepared a pic, just because I carry the wraped body within my back pack. In my concept if you carry the camera out, it should be ready for shooting. with no case tops to screw around.
How fast can I take out the wrap and shoot ? Faster than with the original case top. It is just an issue of pulling.

Time to get serious: My Jupiter 12
Time to get serious: My Jupiter 12
Since I use the Kievs with all or most lenses, I thought a good idea will be to have the same lens thread for all of them, including the Jupiter 9 whose thread is 49mm. Therefore I put 40.5~49mm step up rings to the other lenses.
Many months afterwards, after doing it, a great idea came to my mind related to the Jupiter 13 ackward inwards f/stop scale: to stamp it over the step-up ring using my home printer, after carefully measuring. And I have on that lens 4 f/stops scales.
In between the distance ring and the step-up ring I put a thin rubber band (gess from where) to maximise the friction between both, i.e, not accidentally moving the new f/stop scale when focusing - and it works !

A black painted camera is also an unconspicuous camera. What to do with the chrome shining lenses to avoid them from ruining the effect? : More byke tyre strips, until I buy an air-brush instrument to paint, instead of my brush.

But my razor sharp, soft, Fedka bought, accordingly expensive Jupiter 9 is still a member of the family for trips in which I am dressed to kill with a belt front pouch.

I have a small digital sekonic meter. It gives me incident (white dome) and reflective readings. But when I measure in the reflective way far away subjects, what exactly is the meter reading. No answer from Sekonic, no answer from Gossen, just open your wallet and buy a spot meter (Sekonic), or buy the spot attachment (Gossen).
OK, I did it and bought the wonderful Sekonic L-408 spot meter. But here there is a problem too. I do not like the alternative of choosing between 30 degrees unknown-subject-readings, and subject-known 5 degrees-only spot readings. I WANT TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT MY SMALL REFLECTIVE METER IS READING.
For this, the Soviet 85 finder (which is the most similar angle of view to that of my Sekonic) came to help, alongside my byke tyres.
